This link to the Will County Land Use Department, GIS pages is loaded with maps and 70 layers of information for only Will County. Use this site by clicking the WISARD Tab. Then load WISARD and again, choose WISARD. Then have fun seeing what is available. Some of the important layers (open the folders and put a check mark in these boxes) are “2006-6 in aerial photos” and then in the “Topography folder” put a check mark in the “2007 contours”. You will have to zoom in several time to use some of the layers. Use the “hand” to move to other areas of the map. You may even have to “uncheck” some of the boxes so there is less clutter on the page. All of what you see on the maps is what the Claypool Engineer and new land Developers use to study the impact of new development on surrounding property. Will County and Claypool are committed to preserving the drainage rights of every property owner. The Will County Government and all elected officials deserve your thanks for making this valuable information available over the Internet. Grundy County has similar information, but as of this date will not place the information into the Internet, nor will they make it readily available to other government agencies such as Claypool Drainage. Perhaps with time.
